Sehklinik was founded in 2004, with the ambition of doing private eye medicine differently: as scientifically precise as a university hospital, and as pleasant and personal as somewhere you are glad to be treated. That standard now holds at three locations: Zurich, Wetzikon and Meilen.

A clinic that combines the best of two worlds
After fifteen years of international research and university medicine, Andrea von Rückmann wanted something science alone could not give: direct influence on people's lives. Immediately. Concretely. Measurably.
In 2004 she founded Sehklinik in Zurich — a clinic where scientific excellence and human warmth are not a contradiction. One with no investors, no clinic managers, and no outside interests shaping the daily decisions. Today that means three locations in Zurich, Wetzikon and Meilen — and two category 1 day clinics of our own. Every site is deliberately quiet, private and well appointed: not as a gesture of luxury, but so that people facing eye treatment do not tense up at the door.

At Sehklinik the eye's medical function, its aesthetic expression and transparent advice belong together. That is the difference from a purely medical eye practice, from an aesthetic clinic, and from an anonymous clinical pathway: the eye is treated as an organ — and as the thing people see you by.

A precise diagnosis is the foundation of every successful treatment. That is why we rely on modern imaging and continually renewed equipment — from high-resolution retinal analysis to detailed measurement of the anterior segment.

Procedures take place in surroundings built consistently around safety, hygiene and calm. Standardised processes and careful preparation let you concentrate on what matters: your recovery. Before and after every procedure we go through it with you and are available for questions at any time.
